Our History

The journey started with Mr. Gulam Hussain Ji S/o Mulla Ali Ji. 

Born and brought up in Udaipur, he was extremely hardworking. He used to walk on his feet from Udaipur to Kankroli which is around 40 km to sell salt and earn his livelihood.  He was sharp and had a good sense of handling business. 

But the time was very crucial and inspite of all hurdles and hardships, It was the benedictions of Syedi Fakhruddin Shaheed whose resting place is in Taherabad, 160 KM from Udaipur. Whereon every URS Mubarak, Gualam Hussain Ji visited and prostrated for 40 uninterupted years. Result of which Maharana Fateh Singh Ji used the phrase “Than Gulam Koni, Thane to Gulab Ju Mehekno Hai (You are not a Gulam (slave), You are meant to give fragrance like Gulab (Rose).”

Timeline:

1898: ALI MOHAMMED JI s/o GULAM HUSSAIN JI (GULAB BOHRA) S/o Mulla Ali Ji started the business as a supplier of hardware sanitory tools and other general items to the royal family of MEWAR.

1920-30’s: Contibuted major supplies throughout the British Railway Project.

1935: KAMRUDDIN JI joins his parental business.

1947: AHMED ALI JI joins hand with his brother KAMRUDDIN JI and together they achieve new heights.

1950: manufacturing unit of handloom wire netting started.

1960: weight and measure introduced.

1980’s: ABDE ALI JI built the brand  value as a complete solution under one roof by acquiring number of company’s dealership.

1994: SAJJAD HUSSAIN JI as a helping hand to ABDE ALI JI presented the organisation as an efficient “problem solver” and expand the business.

1998: ABBAS ALI joins the business at the completion of 100 successful years and revolutionized the old working style to shape the modern society.

2005: keeping in mind the power tools prospectives, a new branch GULAB BOHRA POWER TOOLS & MACHINERIES started.

Now the newly entitled Gulab ji laid the foundation of Gulab Bohra and Company on 2nd July 1898 (13/02/1316 A.H.). By the Raza Mubarak of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Bin Syedna Abdul Qadir Najmuddin(R.A.), 49th Dai-al-Mutlaq Spiritual Leader of Dawoodi Bohra Community.

He approached the Maharana and got the chance to put forward his wish to purchase the land. After looking at the determination of Gulab Ji, the Maharana sold him the land in the outskirts of Udaipur, near Shamsheergarh fort (where Maharana used to visit for hunting). 

Being a very kind person, Gulab Ji always helped the people by purchasing everything they had while passing the main trail via Shamsheergarh to Hathipole. This kind heartedness and concern for needful, earn him the goodwill that people start believing Gulab Bohra as a problem solver.

STRATEGY AND VISION:

Since the 19th century when the new innovations opened an increasing range of possibilities for designing work & lining spaces. We believe that the development will continue & ever accelerate into the next century. 

In the future, electric tools will be presented to the end users as an efficient “problem solvers” for sophisticated jobs- keeping it in mind we expand power tools prospective and come upon with our power tool subsidiary Gulab Bohra Power Tools & Machineries in 2005. A dynamic & accelerating process of change to shape modern society

We endeavour to emerge as a No. 1 player in creating awareness among craftsmen who still look over quality product to match their required application. Satisfied customers helps us as a company to stand strong. It all started with Gulab Ji and the legacy is still giving the same fragrance in means of customer satisfaction.
